Supportive Week

Supportive Week

Our first ever ‘Supportive Week' was a resounding success, where we promoted our mantra value across the whole school. Throughout the week we developed students' skills to support others, coordinating teambuilding activities during tutor time and lessons.

We also arranged for a guest speaker to visit. Martin O'Donnell is a Performance Psychology Specialist with his own consultancy, A MODern Talk. Martin talked to many of our KS3 students about character and healthy relationships. The students were fully engaged and enjoyed hearing his insightful links to sport and business.

We celebrated students who were supportive and displayed compassion, with staff using our achievement point system to reward supportive behaviour throughout the week. It was fantastic to see students rise to the occasion and work so well together.

The gallery pictures show some of the events that took place over the week, including the presentation to KS3 students, a biology lesson where small groups of students collaborated to attain the highest score on an exam question, and students in PE taking part in exercises to promote support - literally!

We are now looking forward to focusing on our next mantra value, with ‘Kindness Week’ planned in the new year.
