Kindness Week Update

Our Kindness Week was a great success! During the week we celebrated one of our key Mantra values with a range of initiatives designed to promote kindness, not just to those closest to us but within the community.

We started the week with workshops delivered by the organisation ‘Show Racism the Red Card', the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. The organisation utilises the high-profile status of football and football players to publicise its message.

We gave out hundreds of Kindness stickers, the excitement and genuine positivity generated by this was amazing. Kind acts were rewarded with the stickers which students were able to convert into acheivement points to use in the AP store. This created an ideal enviroment to discuss and reflect on what defines kindness and to give students the confidence to be actively kind to others around the school.

We also encouraged students to write 'Kindness cards' to acknowledge acts of kindness by fellow students and staff, these cards were given out in tutor time and helped to promote the idea that kindness can be as simple as a compliment!

Since Kindness week, the momentum has continued lots of kind acts noted on our Classcharts system, virtual kindness cards are given out along with awards for qualities such as resolving issues, tolerance and respect, politeness and empathy and compassion.
