Oaks Park High School is part of the Pan London coordinated admissions scheme for secondary admissions. Parents must complete their home Local Authority Common Application Form (CAF), available from their Local Authority, and return it to their Local Authority by the closing date. Sutton’s CAF is also available online at www.sutton.gov.uk/admissions. If you wish to apply for a place at Oaks Park High School you must name the school as one of your preferences on the CAF.
Open Evening information and admission criteria are published in the Sutton Admission Information available online. The school also produces a prospectus which is available at the Open Evening, held in the first half of the Autumn Term, or from the school’s website.
The school’s Admissions Policy for admission in September 2020 can be found below.
The standard intake number at 11+ in 2020 is planned to be 210. Students of all abilities are admitted to this 11-19 mixed comprehensive school on the basis of parental preference, except when the number of applications exceeds the standard intake number of the school. In that case children will be given preference if parents can show one or more of the following, in order of priority:
i) Looked after children or previously looked after children (see section 6)
ii) Where there are professionally supported medical reasons or exceptional social reasons why a child should attend a particular school (see section 7).
iii) Children of permanent staff employed by Oaks Park High, provided:
The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more consecutive years on the date of the application, or
The member of staff employed has been recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
iv) Where a sibling is already in the main school at the time of admission (see section 8)
v) Straight line distance between the child’s home address and the mid-point of the front door to the main school (see section 9)
Please note children with an Education, Health & Care Plan naming a particular school will be admitted before all other applicants. Admission numbers will be adjusted to take this into account before the remaining places are offered to other applicants.
Where oversubscription occurs in categories (i)-(iv) above, the subsequent criterion will be applied as a tie-breaker. If oversubscription occurs in category (v), and home to school distance is equal, lots will be drawn. Where this applies to twins or other multiple births, the school will consider if it can accommodate the additional child(ren) on a case by case basis.
National Offer Day is Monday 2nd March 2020.
