Live Online Careers Talk 11th May
Live, On-line Careers Talk
Wednesday 11th May 3.30 – 4pm
Our next speaker is Katie, who attended Cheam High School from 2011 – 2018 (including the sixth form). Katie told us that from childhood, she wanted to be a teacher, however, at the last minute she changed her mind. She knew she enjoyed helping people and giving advice, so she started to apply for apprenticeships in Human Resources. She was successful in securing an apprenticeship at Christie’s – the world’s leading auction house. Almost 4 years later, she is still there!
Christie’s sell artwork at auction across the world. The company has roles in a variety of departments from Operations, Marketing, Compliance & Legal, Technology, HR and Art Departments including Jewellery, Contemporary Art, Old Paintings, Books, Furniture and Asian & World Art.
Katie will tell us about her apprenticeship, her current role and the highlights of her job. It promises to be fascinating.
The talk is aimed at students in Years 9 to 13 but if you have a student in a lower year group who is interested they are welcome to join.
Please email Miss Bishop (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Thursday 5th May if you would like your child to join this talk.
We will then send an invitation to join the Google Classroom via their school Google account. Please remember to include your child's name in your response and remind them to join the meeting on the day. We are unable to acknowledge receipt of emails, due to the large number of replies.
