OUTREACH WORKER - TO WORK ACROSS THE CAN TRUST AND BE PART OF THE BEHAVIOURAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TEAMS
The Trustees and Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptionally well qualified and talented new member of the Behaviour and Emotional Support Team (BEST) in the capacity of Outreach Worker. The successful candidate will have a broad skill set for working effectively with young people and their families where there may be barriers to educational attainment and have a clear commitment to improving young people’s life chances.
Salary will be based on CAN Pay Scale 25 (Full Time Equivalent £27,029, actual salary £24,245) for term time plus 17 days (205 working days) per annum. Hours of work 36 hours per week with core hours between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (with unpaid breaks of between 30 and 50 minutes a day as agreed)
This is a non-teaching post in which the successful candidate will become part of the schools’ behavioural and emotional support teams under the supervision of the designated Inclusion leader.
In particular, the role will involve working closely with young people who may be experiencing difficulties:
- Making positive decisions regarding their attendance to school and/or behaviour both in and out of the educational setting
- May be struggling with mental health or emotional difficulties
- Finding accessing and engaging with their learning challenging
Cheam Academies Network (CAN) is made up of two schools within the London Borough of Sutton. Cheam High School is located in Cheam, SM3 and Oaks Park High School is located in Carshalton, SM5. The successful candidate will work at both schools.
